Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs, has issued a ministerial decision permitting broader participation in national service. The directive allows certain categories, including Qatari-born residents and individuals with Qatari mothers, to enlist under the provisions of the National Service Law. The move also clarifies eligibility criteria for those not previously obligated to serve, marking a significant step towards expanding participation in national duty. I made a mistake in the first slide, first category should be: Qatari citizens (male or female) who are not required to perform National Service.*
